After hearing glowing testimonials about Lightfoot Chiropractic, I visited the clinic and discovered a significant disconnect between their modern, patient-focused approach and their existing online presence. The site lacked user-centric design, accessibility, and clear communication of the clinic's values and services.
To bridge this gap, I undertook a personal project to redesign the website. Using Webflow, I created a mock-up emphasizing accessibility, user guidance, and trust-building features. The goal was to align the clinic’s online presence with its welcoming, professional in-office experience.
Meet Accessibility Standards: Ensure readability for the clinic's primary audience, aged 45–64.
Guide Visitors: Provide clear navigation and direct calls-to-action (CTAs).
Anticipate Questions: Present key information in concise, digestible sections.
Foster Connection: Introduce the staff through bios and photos.
Express Brand Personality: Use modern layouts and updated color palettes.
Save Staff Time: Offer guidance on processes to reduce repetitive queries.
Accessibility and Ease of Use
Avoided autoplay videos to prevent vertigo and improve readability.
Divided content into visually distinct sections for easier scanning.
Used left-aligned text blocks and increased white space for clarity and comfort.
Enhanced contrast in the navigation bar and footer for improved visibility.
Anticipating Patient Needs
Added a brighter secondary brand color to make CTAs stand out.
Answered common questions directly on relevant pages, removing the need for a separate FAQ.
Created an overview of the patient journey to ease onboarding.
Included both an embedded contact form and a direct email option for convenience.
Building Trust and Connection
Expanded staff bios and added photos to introduce the team to potential patients.
Featured testimonials prominently on the homepage to leverage existing trust.
Improved the "Products" page with better imagery and renamed it for clarity.
Skill Development: Gained hands-on experience with Webflow, which offers more efficient client handoffs compared to other platforms like Framer.
Community Feedback: Submitted the project for peer review in the Wired to Design community to gather insights and learn alternative design approaches.
Potential Impact: While the clinic did not adopt the mock-up, this exercise sharpened my ability to balance user and business needs while focusing on accessibility and clarity.
